Study trips provide experiential knowledge that can transform the way we learn. Unfortunately, there are significant barriers to going! So I developed a ‘study trip in a box.’ How does it work? First, I partner with accomplished teachers who lead groups on study trips and we travel and record their lessons in 360-degree stereoscopic video. Next, I finish the videos with maps, graphics, and music to create an episodic series of lessons for a virtual study trip. Finally, the virtual study trip can be purchased by individuals via our website. Within a few days of purchasing, they receive a box that contains a rented VR headset preloaded with the trip’s videos, a souvenir sourced from a vendor along the itinerary, photo postcards of the destinations, and a study journal. After a designated time, the box including the headset is shipped back to our headquarters. Schools and groups can also access these lessons similarly, depending on their in-house technology resources.
