VolleyNet is building the sports social network and marketplace for adult sports, starting with Volleyball in Michigan.
Why will this work? Let’s use volleyball:
Student athletes lose their system when they leave school and so does when you move cities. It require 1-5 teammates & 2-6 opponents, of all which needs to be available and crucially the right skill level/position the longer you’ve played. Beside that, they need courts, nets, balls which they usually don’t have.
On the other hand, local adult players struggle to find the skilled/compatible teammates for tournament, roster gaps for their leagues and urgently substitution players. They look up to systematically trained and skilled younger athletes, yet there’s currently no bridge between these two group of people.
VolleyNet solves this by giving players a sports-specific profile that shows what actually matters for playing: previous/current team, position, skill level, preferred format, availability, equipment access, and video highlights. Instead of taking forever to find the right league name on Facebook groups and unable to find out if you’ll enjoy it until after paying, players can discover compatible local players and invite/request to play.
VolleyNet offers four main things:
1. Player discovery: find compatible players > add friends to chat.
2. Quick play: quickly start a game > add connection to game > keep score> improve friendship/rival stats.
3. Organize Session: schedule future sessions > the app automatically arrange net/court/balls based on who show up.
4. Competition Management/Posting: run your league/tournament > post it to a condensed group of players > get paid all through your mobile device.
Over time, VolleyNet will introduce courts, coaches, and equipment providers. The long-term vision is to become the platform where adult athletes find people, the right court/equipment/coach and unlock earn and organize competition opportunities as passionate players.
