Men’s gymnastics is one of the oldest forms of exercise known to man. Handstands, cartwheels, flips, kips, and so many other physical skills and mental calibrations are made through this sport. But over the years there has been a decline in men’s gymnastics. There are many reasons to this that our customer discovery has found. Knowledgeable high level staff, interested coaches, athletes who have attentions spans long enough to listen and follow directions.
So we put together a comprehensive program for recreations gymnastics called SPACE BOYS. This program is monthly lesson plans for 4 recreational gymnastics from beginner to advanced. Each month there is a progressive game that builds the story of landing on an alien planet, establishing a base, exploring, fixing, and so much more. Every week there are event themes such as flip, strength, and swing. The game allows the athletes to focus on the mission and not just the reps. Instead of saying I tried to do a cartwheel today, a space boy will say “I dodge asteroids while building a moon base!”
There is also staff training which will allow new staff to learn how to run these classes, fix issues with their program, and also to enlighten them as to the why we are doing in the way that we are doing. This staff training teaches the 6 events of men’s gymnastics – known as event declassified – which teaches all the way to optional level skills and the reasons why. This staff training leads all the way up to program director status.
Besides lesson plans for established clubs we have built lesson plans and programs for clubs that have focused on women’s gymnastics. This program takes into consideration the smallest footprint you can have for men’s gymnastics – 400 square feet – which will be capable of running up to optional routines. All the lesson plans, training, and knowledge you would need to have a program in that small of a space is provided to the club.
With Space Boys your gymnastics adventure starts here.
