The Auto-Grill works as follows:
1. A protein is inserted into the machine(a burger or steak).
2. The machine takes into account room temperature and the desired doneness(rare, medium rare, medium, medium-well, well-done).
3. It cooks one side following an algorithm that derives from the previously collected information.
4. It flips the protein.
5. It cooks the other side, following the same algorithm.
6. Once the meat is cooked, it dumps it onto a plate or whatever is put in front of it.
7. The Auto-Grill resets back to its initial state.
This machine is intended for use in commercial kitchens. At this time, the Auto-Grill prototype has successfully cooked 104 burgers and 17 steaks. It has successfully cooked a burger in rooms ranging from 65 degrees to 105 degrees, meaning it could handle any kitchen. It can cook 2 burgers every 3 minutes or 1 steak every 5 minutes, meaning the Auto-Grill system can handle a lunch or dinner rush at any establishment.
