This summer, a 7-year-old Michigan kid—born in Grand Rapids, now in Lansing—will be featured on PBS KIDS.
If you’re a parent, you know how rare it is to see a kid like yours on a national platform talking about something that actually matters.
Madeline didn’t just get featured—she co-authored a bilingual children’s book that helps kids understand money in a way that feels normal, not scary.
And instead of letting that be a one-time moment, we’re turning it into something your family can experience.
We’re hosting 3 community events where you can bring your child, watch her PBS segment together, and then actually do something with it. Not a lecture. Not a class.
Your child will play simple “money games”—like choosing needs vs. wants, practicing saving, and making decisions with play money. You’ll get a way to start conversations that most families avoid because they don’t know how.
The goal is simple: give you a way to talk about money with your child before it becomes stressful.
Because of public media guidelines, these events are fully non-commercial—just families, kids, and real conversations.
With $5,000, we’ll host these events in welcoming community spaces, reach 100–200+ families, and create follow-up pathways so you can keep the conversation going at home after you leave.
This isn’t just an event. It’s a starting point—for your family and many others.
