The Snack Shack is a proposed Black woman-owned portable concession business that will bring affordable snacks, cold beverages, and grab-and-go refreshments to Grand Rapids residents and visitors.
As the Grand River Greenway develops into a destination for walking, biking, recreation, and community gatherings, I see an opportunity to provide convenient refreshments at approved locations.
My plan is to start small by selling sealed chips, candy, bottled beverages, and other packaged snacks from a professional, portable concession setup.
Unlike a traditional food truck, The Snack Shack will begin with a simpler retail model that requires less equipment and allows me to test customer demand before expanding.
I will focus on affordability, friendly customer service, and convenient locations. With the right funding and approvals, I want to launch a pilot operation, build a customer base, and eventually expand into a permanent snack and concession storefront.
The Snack Shack is more than a snack stand. It’s my first step toward building a sustainable retail business that can grow with the Grand Rapids community.
