KHEERA™ – The Original Cucumber Spread™ by CANDIBOCS Farms™

About this idea

KHEERA™ (pronounced /kee-ruh/) is a refrigerated cucumber spread developed by CANDIBOCS Farms™, a family-owned Michigan agricultural farm. Rather than using cucumber as a garnish or secondary flavor, KHEERA™ makes cucumber the primary ingredient, creating a cool, creamy, versatile spread for sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, bowls, vegetables, charcuterie boards, dips, and more.

Today’s refrigerated aisle offers consumers countless options – from mayonnaise, to mustard, ranch, hummus, tzatziki, sauces, vinaigrettes, and dips – but relatively few products that are both vegetable-forward and designed to be light, versatile, and enjoyable to eat. Many consumers, especially those who are health-conscious or fitness-minded, want flavorful spreads and dressings that complement their meals without relying on heavy, high-calorie ingredients.

KHEERA™ was created to meet that need by transforming one of the world’s most familiar vegetables into the foundation of an entirely new food experience.

As cucumber growers, CANDIBOCS Farms™ saw an opportunity to create more value from a crop already deeply rooted in agriculture. Instead of viewing cucumbers as simply a fresh produce item or pickle ingredient, we envisioned a product platform centered around cucumber itself.

That vision became KHEERA™ – a refrigerated spread designed to introduce what we believe can become an entirely NEW FOOD CATEGORY.

KHEERA™ is currently in the product development stage. Multiple small-batch formulation and processing experiments have been completed while developing a proprietary approach for preserving fresh cucumber flavor, aroma, color, and texture. Alongside product development, CANDIBOCS Farms™ has established the KHEERA™ brand identity, packaging concepts, and an initial commercialization strategy.
